About
One place to research the single most important decision about your hair.
The Hair Library is a research destination for anyone worried about hair loss. Clinics, doctors, products, and real patient journeys — in one place, with transparency as the default setting.

Why this exists
A hair transplant is a ₹1–10L decision with a 12-month feedback loop, made by someone who's never made it before. Clinics market aggressively; patients mostly decide based on Instagram ads and Google reviews. The mismatch between marketing and outcomes is huge — and it's the reason we built this.
Existing options fail the patient: clinic websites are sales pages, Google reviews are gameable, US sites like RealSelf don't cover Indian clinics, and dermatologists are generalists. Nobody was building the hair-only research destination this patient needs.
What we do differently
- Patient journeys as the moat. Month-by-month timelines from real patients — privacy-blurred photos, density curves, "would do again" verdicts. This is the data clinics can't fake at scale.
- Trust transparency on every card. Ratings show review count, flagged count, and last audit date. Every profile has a "Report inaccuracy" link. Verification status is shown honestly — including "not yet verified with The Hair Library" for clinics that haven't claimed.
- No pay-for-placement. Clinics cannot buy their way into better rankings. Sponsored placements are clearly labeled and never affect organic results.
- 100% hair, always. We will never add cosmetic procedures, dermatology, or general health. The specificity is the trust.
How we make money
Listings are free forever. We earn when a patient requests a quote from a clinic through The Hair Library and the clinic pays for that lead (CPL). We also earn affiliate commissions on products like minoxidil and finasteride, and small subscription fees for clinics that want analytics and lead-management tools on top.
We do not sell patient data. A quote request goes to the clinic the patient chose, plus (only with explicit consent) up to 3 verified alternatives if that clinic doesn't respond in 48 hours. That's it.
Who built this
The Hair Library is bootstrapped, built by a solo founder, run out of India. If you want to talk to us — about your own journey, a clinic that should be listed, a correction, or anything else — the fastest way is hi@thehairlibrary.com.
What we will never do
- Sell or share patient contact data with anyone other than the clinics a patient explicitly selected.
- Accept money to influence rankings or reviews.
- Edit or delete patient reviews or journeys under pressure from clinics.
- Expand beyond hair restoration. This is the one thing we do.
